What Life Lessons Did You Learn in 2013?

Every year that passes, I hope I have become wiser and learn great lessons. December becomes such a blur that January is when I think about these milestones. Here are a few lessons I learned in 2013; I hope you made a list, too. What life lessons did you learn is 2013?

Every year that passes, I hope I have become wiser and learn great lessons.  December becomes such a blur that January is when I think about these milestones.  Here are a few lessons I learned in 2013; I hope you made a list, too. What life lessons did you learn in 2013?
1-Make Yourself Take Time– I know you are busy and I am busy; we are all busy.  During the craziest time of the year, mid-December, our minster’s father died.  Several of us from the church made the three hour trip that turned into a five hour journey (we got lost and stuck in traffic) to the service. When our minster saw us, it made the whole trip worth it. I remember when both my mother and sister died how much I appreciated folks who took time come to the funerals. It just touches your heart!
2- Appreciate where you are on the way to where you are going.Stuff happens.  It will not last forever so just consider it a crummy “bus-stop.” My friend, Dr. Willie Jolley says, “You are either in something, just got out of something or fixin’ to get into something else.”
3- Prove them WRONG. We can be so defined by our past.  Have a “necessary ending” to things and people who are holding you back from that next level. When I decided to write my book, “Bury Me With My Pearls” I had to fight the memory of Dr. Broome giving me an “F” in writing in college. Ughhh. When the book became a Amazon “best-seller” I was amazed and so thankful. Had I listened to the negative voices in my head, I would have never had the courage to try.
To celebrate the release of my book, I made a fun promo for a contest to win a Kindle Fire.  Enjoy!
