We all have celebrated moments that are unforgettable. We freeze special times and make sure we will never forget a treasured experience. We celebrate milestones in our lives like marriage and the birth of babies.
There are also unforgettable moments that are afforded to us through hard work and never giving up on the desires of our hearts.
One of my most celebrated moments was speaking for 20,000 young people (out of 60,000) who attended my presentation at the National Future Farmers of America Convention. Recently, FFA posted YouTube videos from the convention and I have loved watching amazing footage of hard work and achievement. I have always heard that attending an FFA National Convention was indescribable and something you must see to believe. Click here to see my FFA presentation. @nationalffa #goffa
If you want to grow in your life, you have to be hungry.
Whether you are 16 or 60, life rewards those who diligently search to find their talents. What amazed me were the many comments from the young people who heard me speak. These are the same principles I live today and have followed since I was a teenager.
The great news is that these life lessons work!
Many in my audience used Twitter to express memorable quotes/moments from my presentation. Here are a few of my favorites:
-“You can’t live a positive life thinking negative thoughts.”
-“Competition can make you bitter or better. The difference is in the ‘i’. Don’t make it all about you.”
-“When someone tells you no, think next.”
-“I did not win Miss America, but I married her boyfriend.”
-“I made an “F” in writing. This year I became a best-selling author. All things are possible.”
Remember this great quote from Eleanor Roosevelt, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
Don’t ever stop believing!
