How to Experience Extragavant Joy

Bree Boyce Marsh chooses JOY! My buddy and Miss South Carolina “sistah” made a decision several years ago that changed her life in a dramatic way. It is Miss South Carolina week and in honor of this exciting event and the theme of my new book, “Rhinestones on My Flip-Flops,” I thought of Bree Boyce Marsh. Bree possesses many of the same qualities I highlight in a chapter in my book entitled, “Fearless and Fabulous Esther.”  Like queen Esther, Bree is brave, bold and beautiful. But it did not start out that way. Bree was 17 years old and weighed in at 234. She Continue Reading

After a brief lunch, Thomas and I visited a Verizon Wireless store. After waiting for our turn a tall, slim girl approached me.  She quickly isolated the issue with my cell phone and checked on my data usage.  Continue Reading

Do You Celebrate Life's Moments?

We all have celebrated moments that are unforgettable.  We freeze special times and make sure we will never forget a treasured experience. We celebrate milestones in our lives like marriage and the birth of babies.   There are also unforgettable moments that are afforded to us through hard work and never giving up on the desires of our hearts. One of my most celebrated moments was speaking for 20,000 young people (out of 60,000) who attended my presentation at the National Future Farmers of America Convention.  Recently, FFA posted YouTube videos from the convention and I have loved watching amazing footage Continue Reading
