This book has been quite a journey.  I began writing, “Bury Me With My Pearls” around 2002 and had to stop since my mother became ill and my family became infected with the disease called, “I want.” So in essence this book, using the analogy of pearls,  addresses life lessons with impossible people using humor and high principled behavior.  From the seed pearls to the protection of our homes (oyster shell) to the dark pearls…you will enjoy the journey of the pearl.  This book is loaded with Biblical truths and quotes that helped me survive with a sense of humor and a sense of purpose. My mother was amazing since her sense of humor was fabulous! I am so thankful she left me the pearl of  “how to have a great sense of humor when it ain’t funny.”  Here is a short funny example of her humor that is written in the book:
My mother always had her own version of the Bible.  The night before I got married, my mother said, “To have a happy marriage, do your homework.  It is scripture.  I know somewhere in the Bible it says something like, “Keep your husband happy. For every headache you have there will be a woman somewhere out there with an aspirin in her pocketbook.”  The Book of Eleanor, Chapter 1, Verse 1.
This book will make you laugh while helping with issues that may seem overwhelming. I am thankful to have good Christian friends, wonderful literature and excellent counseling to get through that difficult time. Half  of a Valium also helped.  I have a chapter called;  Half of Valium and a Whole of Jesus
My mother passed away while I held her and I promised I would share our story. Little did I know what was ahead after my mother’s death.  Only four months later, my sister died suddenly. This is the story…our story and the journey of our pearls. The most surprising  life lesson was found in the dark pearl….the one was always dread.
Enjoy a little seed pearl about the book and a funny story shared from my YouTube video.
